JogSkipton - an apology

Many apologies to anybody who turned up at the pool for a JogSkipton meeting on Thursday 8th. We had decided to have a meeting just on the Tuesday but had forgotten to change the information on the website.

We will be having the JogSkipton sessions from next week on both Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th and for the next six weeks. Please come along for 6:30 pm if you are a complete beginner and at 7:00 pm if you have run a little before. We anticipate about two groups of 10 beginners and one similar sized group of 'comeback kids' at 7.

Sorry once again for the confusion about the meeting times.

If you have any questions: email us here or ring Paul Norman on 01756 797672 or Chris Rose on 01756 700818

Pendle Hill Club Walk

The next club walk is planned for Sunday 11th January. Barley to the top of Pendle Hill - 577 metres high. Short walk of 5-6 miles- 3 hours, cafe afterwards. Meet 9.30am at the Swimming pool for a car share. Jayne Butterworth for more details, alternatively use the Contact Us form on the site or just turn up on the day.

WYWL X-Country, Skipton

On Sunday December 7th the West Yorkshire Winter League cross country event is hosted by Skipton Athletics Club.  Parking for the event has been provided by Craven College and the hall, changing rooms and grounds have been provided by Aireville School.

Please see maps of general access to the venue, plus a course map. Note that we have 3 complete laps, not 2.5 laps as last year.

Please note that the 7th December is one of Skipton's mediaeval market days, therefore, people are encouraged not to access the race via the town centre as the High Street will be closed. The market is worth visiting so why not bring the family to support you and then take a look at what the market has to offer.

JogSkipton (Jan-Feb 2009)

Skipton Athletics Club (AC) welcomes anyone who wants to try running, no matter if you are a complete beginner and never run before, or a ‘comeback kid’ who has run a little before and wants to get back into it.

Skipton AC are a friendly group of people who meet regularly to enjoy not only running, but also socialising together. The aim of JogSkipton is to introduce people to running purely for the enjoyment and the good feeling of being active.

Members of Skipton AC say, “Anyone can come and run with us. We hope that people’s motivation will increase as they realize that they are getting more and more fit, confident and energised by running. There is always something exciting on the horizon – whether it is pure improvement, feeling better or the desire to run a race. JogSkipton is not about a group of elite runners coaching aspiring athletes. We are experienced, regular runners and simply wish to share our love for running and to give supportive encouragement in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.”

Many apologies to anybody who turned up at the pool for a JogSkipton meeting on Thursday 8th. We had decided to have a meeting just on the Tuesday but had forgotten to change the information on the website.
